I trust that you will find the experience rewarding. I’ll try not to overwhelm your inbox — the odd day may see 2 emails but I usually keep it to 3-5 per week. And I’ll do my best to make things interesting. If you ever have concerns about the content in the newletters (or just want to comment) remember that you can always Reply to any email I send. And you can unsubscribe at any point if you’re no longer interested.
Thanks for joining my adventure!

I have spent the past two weeks from sun up to sun down trying to figure out all the odds and ends to this monetized blogging world. I’ve been practicing on a sub domain. (lucky for me that I practiced on a sub domain) I have been just digging my test blog into the ground as if I were looking for oil. Train wreck. I’ll get to the point. I have found your content to be incredibly valuable. I’ve read a few of the “how to’s” on Problogger, and that has help me get an idea of blogging world, but for some reason I guess I found your blog to be comforting as a newbie. I will keep practicing content on my sub domain, and when I finally know what I am doing I will work on my main. I have no niche, or at least one that I feel comfortable maintaining profitably. You are the first writer/blogger that I have reached out to since I started. Your content is king. That seems to be the one constant I have read in my researching. I’m not sure if you respond to every subscriber, but I wanted to thank you for inspiring me to stop and think about what I am doing. This is a long haul thing, and I’ve have a short term mindset until now. If you would love to see the train wreck that is my test blog it is blog.amarvelouscalm.com I’m young as well, so my content lacks a sense of direction. I will be closing evaluating and taking everything I can from you. I have read that if you can’t find a mentor that you know personally then find someone who knows what they are doing and pay close attention. I want to thank you once more for your content. It is so valuable to me.
Hi Whitney
Thanks for your support. I hope that you can gain a lot of valuable information from me. I am not, by any means, a guru in this field, but I’m learning a lot of things about it as I go along. And I like to share it. It actually helps me when I do.
Don’t be discouraged about where your content is at this point. Just keep writing, learning and sharing. You’ll find that practice makes a difference. Don’t be afraid to put your work out there.
You may find that some people don’t like it. Ignore that. Learn from it. Keep going. You’ll likely find more people that support you than don’t. Just be true to yourself and you’ll attract your tribe.
But it is more likely that you’ll find people don’t find your stuff — it’s a big internet and it’s so easy to get lost in it. That is the hardest part. Getting people to come visit for the first time is the part that takes the most work.
For me, writing is easy. The tech part is easy (I’ve been a programmer for 30 years). The monetization is easy. But the promotion is really, really hard.
